Emotional crisis during the pandemic: A mini-analysis in children and adolescents

The outbreak of the novel coronavirus Covid-19 has turned into a health emergency unprecedented in recent years. Apart from the devastating impact on physical health and the unimaginable death toll, this novel coronavirus has increased stress, anxiety and depression globally. This grim phenomenon affects not only adults but also children. Sadly, with regard to children the consequences are unpredictable. In addition to young children, adolescents and students are suffering the same consequences. Investigation of the psychological impact on the school community is of great importance, in order to evaluate the extent and consequences of this emotional crisis. An overhaul of the outdated educational system is crucial to dealing with these issues effectively.
