In the context of the Bodossaki Foundation initiative on the upgrading of public health in Greece, data were collected and analyzed and proposals for improvements were made. In the present article, the health status of three important subpopulations of the country is described: (a) children/adolescents/young adults, (b) aged subjects, and (c) women, and proposals for improvement are made. For the first subpopulation, issues related to children and breastfeeding, overweight-obesity, preschool age, intellectual disability, vaccination coverage, child mortality and dealing with the issues of premature births, assisted reproduction technologies (classic In Vitro Fertilization[IVF], Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection[ICSI]), and breastfeeding are presented. In addition to these, issues concerning adolescents are discussed, such as the phenomenon of the "healthy adolescent illusion", chronic non-communicable diseases, their mental health, their risky behaviors and their sexual-reproductive health, while emphasis is placed on necessity of the specialization of adolescent and youth medicine in Greece. Regarding the aged subjects, the current situation and the model of healthy aging in our country are presented. At the same time, actions for the implementation of the latter are proposed and their basic conditions are analyzed. For the subpopulation of women, issues related to their health and its promotion in general, non-communicable diseases, sex- and age-oriented diagnosis and treatment, their reduced representation in clinical studies, statistical data and decision-making centers, the vulnerable groups of women, unpaid work and the environmental risks to which they are exposed are presented. Finally, there is a reference to the areas of immediate priority for women's health, the improvement of their sexual and reproductive health and the prevention of violence against women.
